A little fun today with the light set-up. These guys made it easy with their prearranged posing. The only problem with the shot was the lights were a bit out of place for them. I had set them up for doing portraits with the model facing the camera. Still it was a fun shot.
The lighting was with my Canon 430EX II high camera left at 1/2 power bounced from the 45″ Westcott umbrella, fired with the RadioPopper JrX. The second light was the Vivitar 285HV low camera right shot through white umbrella at 1/4 power fired with the Sonia optical slave.

We had quite a storm today and it was quite beautiful once it was done. A little snow going on at Shasta Bally as can be seen. Another view from the old office window but the cloud was too cool. A couple of passes with Topaz Adjust for the post here.

Same old boring model but at least he was there when I needed him. Got a new umbrella from Amazon yesterday and got some heavy duty light stands from someone on Craigslist last week. It’s a good thing because the umbrella is bigger than my older ones which make the old cheap light stands a bit wobbly.
My lighting here a Canon 430EX II high camera right bounced with a Westcott 45″ White umbrella and fired at 1/4 power with a RadioPopper JrX. Shot at f6.3 and 1/200th of a second shutter.

Had a day out walking, hiking, shooting and exploring. It was very cool as it was a Friday and a work day. My boss was doing a 5 year anniversary day for me. Saw many new places and things today. Watch for upcoming photos.

Today I am starting to realize a few things. Number 1 – I think I like using lightroom. I don’t have it all down yet but I am seeing the potential. Number 2 – This new little Rebel I got has got some mad skillz and I starting to love this camera. So many goodies grabbed . from the 7D. 3rd thing is I will be doing some great stuff very soon. Just need one more little invasive ingredient and of course that is time. Getting a bit tomorrow. Should be great.
I do see I’m this one a bit dark. Should fix tomorrow but no time tonight.

Playing around a bit more the LR beta and working on figuring out the develop module stuff. Made a virtual copy and did a black & white treatment also.

This is a special photograph. Doesn’t look very special but it is. It is the first photo that I did entirely with Lightroom. I’ve been trying to learn how to use LR and the trickiest thing so far was figuring out how to save as a jpeg. phew! finally figured it out.

Here is a 3 shot panorama that I took yesterday at our Waterfall Meetup. It’s pretty nondescript.

Here are some friends, Melissa and Jerome. We did a photo shoot the past weekend. They are expecting their first child soon.
This was done in my friend’s studio with 3 lights. I did a little Topaz Adjust in the post processing here.
