More Family

December 28th, 2013 by ronlute

More Family, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

Another image from a couple of weeks ago (before surgery) of my Dad, Daughter Nancy and grandkids Andrew and Belle.
Feeling pretty good these days and my knee gets stronger and stronger. Not sure when I will be walking without aide but it seems like a month would not be unreasonable.

Last Man Standing

December 17th, 2013 by ronlute

Last Man Standing, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

For tonight I went back a ways. Two and a half years to be precise. Since this is the last photo I will be doing in probably a week or so it had be me I guess. I get my early Christmas present tomorrow (a new left knee). I am definitely looking forward to a point in a month or two when I should be walking way better then I have been and lack of mobility no longer interferes with my shooting, but I’m particularly excited about the next couple of weeks (month or two). I know I have a lot of work with the rehab but my eye will be on the goal and I do look forward to that.

Shack Out Back

Shack Out Back, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

Another image from the North Eastern California trip. I really like the clouds in this image as they are naturally putting leading lines pointing to the shack in the sky. And of course as always I love what can be done with Silver Efex Pro.

Family

Family, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

Family. I don’t always have my camera when visiting my parents but I know I need to have it more often. I expect to be able to make photos for many more years but you just never know when the opportunity will be gone. So, it is a good idea to continue making lots of photos. I picked up my daughter and grand kids today so they could have a visit with the great grand parents. Here is Mom with Andrew and Belle.

Bend in the River

Bend in the River, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

Here’s an image from the past summer. It’s one of my favorite spots within 10 minutes from home. Always a nice spot to drive to for a fix when I’m jonesin’ to shoot.

Starry, Starry Night

December 13th, 2013 by ronlute

Stary, Stary Night, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

Another image from our Milky Way shoot. A long 90+ exposure that resulted in some star trails of course. Plenty of noise too. Can’t remember if I had the long exposure noise reduction on.
It’s just 5 more days till I get my early Christmas present. I am really looking forward to it and even though it will be some investment required to get full benefit I feel I’m up to the task.

Old Quakers

December 12th, 2013 by ronlute

Old Quakers, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

Finally did this photo on my laptop so I could take a look at Analog Efex :Pro. I haven’t had the time to find out why it doesn’t work on the desktop yet. Looks kind of fun but I not too sure I would use it much. But we’ll see later. For now I used the images on the laptop which were from the Ashland trip. Some nice ducks circling for the food they were hoping to see flying their way.

Eight to Five

December 11th, 2013 by ronlute

Eight to Five, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

It was a brilliant sky tonight and I thought “too bad I don’t have my camera”. Then of course I realized that I did have my camera. The iPhone does such an amazing job for such a small little device. I am usually pleasantly surprised when reminded.

Thru a Lens Darkly

December 10th, 2013 by ronlute

Thru a Lens Darkly, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

A dark look up. Don’t get a view like this around my house but I can get it in the city. First time I was able to clearly see the vignette effect of my wide angle lens. I’ve added a bit but a lot was the effect from the lens I believe.

Reflecting on Christmas

December 9th, 2013 by ronlute

Reflecting on Christmas, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

Another fun shot with the giant Christmas Balls. I got a nice reflection but with an f8 aperture the image was a bit boring so it was the perfect (pun intended) opportunity to use Perfect Focus.
