The old State Theater in Red Bluff, California. I’ve never lived in Red Bluff but I have some fond memories. Back in the 70′s I was at Lake Shasta on a motorcycle and had some issues with the clutch and transmission. The bike shop in So. Cal. had set up my bike poorly. I went to Red Bluff and on the way my shift cable broke. The shop in Red Bluff not only fixed everything but barely charged me anything. I knew then that there was something special about a small town.

I’m back. Finally got out today 1 month after my knee surgery. It is absolutely great to be able to walk around again without the need for a cane. Just went to a few of the old photo spots but it still was totally cool be to out.

I took a somewhat bland photo of a nearby alley from the upper deck parking and did a couple of passes with Topaz Adjust to end up with this rather painterly effect.

Had some nice rain today and this is how it looked afterward. Nice clouds.

Here is another building getting ready to be demolished on Market Street (the Miracle Mile). I just noticed it today and I can’t even remember what this building is or was.
I need to pay better attention to these old buildings before they get to this state.

Some of the local architecture. Our college university center and a fancy little sphere that is in the quad. Nothing special today in the post processing but I did sit on the ground to get a different POV. That is always something good to do for a little different photo. Pretty easy to do and of course the hardest part for me is getting back up.

Another sunset and so soon. It is easier sometimes when it is a busy day and the days are still rather short. Since my office window faces the West I do get tempted some nights when the colors are cool. It is always a bit of a challenge too to try to get a sharp photo hand held. I tried to do most of these with my lens up against the window to minimise shake. Not too bad I guess.

Well after only 3 days in I missed a day’s blog post. That’s OK though cause I still have a photo a day. I realize it’s a bit ambitious to blog every day but I will work on at least 5 days a week. After a year of 1 to 2 a month 5 days a week will be killer.
