A little playing around in Camera Raw on this one. Taken with the wonderful 50mm. I was playing around with of the Adobe Camera Raw tools that I normally don’t touch.

Here is one from Thursday at Fort Point under the Golden Gate Bridge. We were in San Francisco for Photoshop’s 20th Anniversary Party. It was cool to see the Photoshop Guys, Joe McNally and other recognizable industry figures.

Roses for Valentine’s Day.
The lighting here was my Canon 430EX II high camera right fired with the RadioPopper JrX @ 1/4 power shot through an umbrella and the Vivitar 285HV @ 1/4″ low camera left fired with the Sonia optical slave using my Honl snoot opened up as a reflector.
Post-processing with Topaz Adjust.

I’ve definitely been struggling for a while to get back to a regular schedule of shooting. It all seems to have started with getting sick and the changes at work and just a general feeling of the blahs. Sometimes we can find inspiration right in our backyards and that is what happened here. This is such a cool plant bloom and hopefully I am on my way again.

It’s that time of year again. Flowers are blooming in the gardens of gardeners and those that are in to that kind of activity. Me, I just like to document some of it. Not really the gardener type but do appreciate the beauty. My dad always has some great stuff blooming and this year is no exception. Here’s to you dad!

Well it had to happen. Spring. Let’s just see how long it lasts this year. Since it already got to the 90s today (April 12th) it may well be a short spring. I hope not but that is how it often goes in Redding. Not really know for long periods of great weather.
We did have a very nice sky the other day. Blue. With clouds. A perfect opportunity to get out and shoot. Though I am finding that I probably need knee pads now. My knees are so bad I can’t stoop anymore and it certainly is fun get on my knees with sticks and stones. Wanted this angle thought and I think it looks pretty cool though I would like to do another one with some fill flash for the flowers.

Now that the rains have started and the weather is cooling down I would have thought that all the wild flowers were done. But that is not the case as is seen here. There are still more flowers out there.
