And now… It was time to do something else. I took a shot of an interesting branch and ran some Color Efex filters on it. Well obviously I need some more learning on the Nik software but I will get there. I will also get out with the camera in a day or two (depending on tomorrow’s rain). It’s been almost 2 weeks after all. This image has the foliage and midnight filters applied.

The old State Theater in Red Bluff, California. I’ve never lived in Red Bluff but I have some fond memories. Back in the 70′s I was at Lake Shasta on a motorcycle and had some issues with the clutch and transmission. The bike shop in So. Cal. had set up my bike poorly. I went to Red Bluff and on the way my shift cable broke. The shop in Red Bluff not only fixed everything but barely charged me anything. I knew then that there was something special about a small town.

Here’s a photo that I was NOT expecting to get. I was at the local, in town, boat launch and saw these geese out of the corner of my eye. I had my new 70-200mm lens on and am quite pleased at how quick it caught focus and such a nice job too.
I look forward to many great shots with the new glass including the upcoming trip up the coast.

This is definitely one of my favorites shots of 2012 and probably of all time. I love the way the light works with dark area behind Shane under Hedge Creek Falls giving a great background. Shane is busy holding the rope for Farren as she is doing a solo climb up the face of the Falls. His intent gaze is wonderful.

Well I guess it’s time to pay attention. This has always been one of those things where I am just about to get a regular habit of posting and it doesn’t happen. But as I’ve said that is about to change. I’ve recently started paying attention (as I’ve said) and now I will start using the power of WordPress and we shall see!

Loved the look of the clouds today during my afternoon walk around work. Put on a circular polarizer today for my walk.

A shot from the photo walk in Redding. For the second year I was privileged to be a leader in Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk. It’s a great experience and I’ve met some great photographers in the process.

We found these wonderful old olive trees in Gerber. Grafted from 100 year old trees they are like bonsai on steroids. Absolutely beautiful.

I’m back. Finally got out today 1 month after my knee surgery. It is absolutely great to be able to walk around again without the need for a cane. Just went to a few of the old photo spots but it still was totally cool be to out.
