The garden looks way better than this photo attempts to show. Joey has been hard at work the past 3 or 4 weeks and here by the pool she’s put bricks and stones around the garden area and made planters with old drawers and an old wicker waste basket. It all looks way cool

I got a shot of the painter’s paints. I should have gotten this a little sooner as there was a much wider array and it would have made such a photo.

We were gone last week so today we had my parents over for “Mother’s Day” It was a great time with Bar-B-Q and a nice visit. I also realize it’s great to take family portraits whenever possible because it won’t be forever.
Lighting 430EX II high camera right fired @ 1/4 power with RP JrX into a Westcott 45″ umbrella.

Yes. It is that time of year when the weeds need whacking and defensible space is required. Soon it will change from 70s and 80s to 90s and 100s. And then all the cool greens will turn to brown. This year with the drought cycle being broken the grasses and weeds are especially tall and it wouldn’t surprise me if they have to be whacked twice. For now though it all looks pretty cool.

I took a somewhat bland photo of a nearby alley from the upper deck parking and did a couple of passes with Topaz Adjust to end up with this rather painterly effect.

The title tells. I often find that for the self-portrait I look way too serious. On this one I put on the EF-s 55-250mm lens. Not my favorite but part of the reason I bought it was decent reviews so I best take a better look at it. Since I have a camera that can go higher in the ISO range than the previous one it will open up new possibilities.
The lighting on this is a single 430EX II high camera right bounced off a white umbrella at 1/4 power fired with the RadioPopper JrX. Post processing with Topaz Adjust and a pass with Exposure Correction and then a pass of Portrait Drama.

We had quite a storm today and it was quite beautiful once it was done. A little snow going on at Shasta Bally as can be seen. Another view from the old office window but the cloud was too cool. A couple of passes with Topaz Adjust for the post here.

This is a special photograph. Doesn’t look very special but it is. It is the first photo that I did entirely with Lightroom. I’ve been trying to learn how to use LR and the trickiest thing so far was figuring out how to save as a jpeg. phew! finally figured it out.

Here is a 3 shot panorama that I took yesterday at our Waterfall Meetup. It’s pretty nondescript.
