Humboldt Scoring a Try, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

A Humboldt player is happily scoring a try here as a Shasta player looks on. It was a close contest but somehow the Humboldt team beat our Shasta players.

Chimping, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

My friend, Hung, who is a wonder photographer at the Rugby match yesterday. Looks like he’s doing a little chimping here. I know he got some great images at the game.

Some Fine Eyelashes, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

One last image from my trip to the Zoo and a Giraffe. I heard recently some woman commenting about their great eyelashes. Seems to be pretty much true. A good looking animal to be sure.

I’ve Got Him, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

A shot from today’s Rugby match. Humboldt beat Shasta but it was close. I guess you do whatever you can to stop the opponents.

Lazy Day

Lazy Day, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

There are times when you are busy doing stuff and then there are times when you just don’t feel like doing anything much (but take a nice nap). I know cats are pretty good at the nap deal and this guy is showing he’s definitely a cat.

Blue Bill

Blue Bill, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

Most of the animals that I shot at the Zoo I’ve found the names on the Sacramento Zoo website. This interesting little duck I could not find. (Maybe someone will let me know it’s name) As you can see it has a bright blue bill.

Number Eight On One, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

Ah! More fun with Flamingos. Love the way they like to stand on one leg. This one was number 8. At least that’s what was on it’s leg band.

Shedded?

Shedded?, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

Not really. But I couldn’t help but think about the snake shedding it’s skin (and everything else) when I saw this snake skeleton at the Reptile & Amphibian House at the Sacramento Zoo. I must say that I like having the MK III in situations like this where flash just aint gonna work.

Ready to Dive

March 12th, 2014 by ronlute

Ready to Dive, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

This Hooded Merganser is ready to dive ’cause that’s where it finds it’s food. There are quite the active little guys and can stay submerged diving for food for up to 2 minutes.

See You Later

See You Later, originally uploaded by ronWLS.

Here’s another image of the Red Panda showing off his beautiful tail. Just such a great looking animal but as most of the Zoo animals it is not the easiest to photograph as they don’t seem to hang out in public for long periods of time.
